The Joke Continues

How dare Chappell utter a word against the MPs!

It is --- get this --- undemocratic! So says Gurudas Dasgupta, an MP from the CPI. "Chappell doesn't understand the nuances of democracy," says Mr. Dasgupta. To which one can only say: Please, MP sar. Please to explain meaning of democratic nuance. If possible in common-man words, so Mr. Chappell don't take undemocratic liberties with MPs.

Another cricket expert is Renuka Choudhary. She is not only an MP, she is a minister. No, not minsiter of sport. But the far more relevant minsiter of women and child development. And she wants --- if her friends, the MPs, are willing --- a privilege motion against Chappell. I don't know what "privilege motion" means, but I suspect it ain't comfortable.

And if you think that the speaker of the house is above all this tamasha, guess again. Mr. Somnath Chatterjee says about Chappell's remarks: "Let nobody lecture us." By which he means, arre bache, zubaan sambhal ke. Lecture vecture hamara kaam hai. Tumhare jaise gajar muli bahut dekhe hain. Or words to that effect in Bengali.

Saab mil ke bolo: Jai Hind!
